Mahab Ghodss Consulting Engineering Company, in response to the ever-growing challenges of water resources and climate change, set up the “Integrated Water, Soil & Environmental Studies Department” to institutionalize a comprehensive and multidisciplinary perspective to water management and sustainable development so as to align the principles of integrated assessment and adaptive management with the objectives of sustainable development in the water resources development projects.
The core mission is to conduct studies and deliver engineering services in water resources, environment, and socio-economic domains. The scope of activities includes comprehensive assessment of water resources and uses, environmental and social impact assessment of projects, water demand and consumption management, economic evaluation of water resources and ecosystem services, formulation of macro-level policies and strategic framework for the water sector, social facilitation services, stakeholder training and capacity building, and the development of decision-support tools. The department has carried out a wide range of studies on catchment areas across the country. In this regard, it has successfully implemented national-level projects in the fields of integrated water resources management, environmental and social impact assessment of civil projects, and the development of innovative financial and economic mechanisms. Furthermore, it has maintained a strong presence in international water resources management projects and has provided specialized consultancy services in the relevant technical domains.
