High-Level Meetings Reinforce Partnerships, Launch the Barka Project, and Expand Opportunities for Future Collaboration
As part of its ongoing international business development strategy, Mahab Ghodss Consulting Engineering Company conducted a two-day executive mission to the Sultanate of Oman on April 27–28, 2026. Led by Ali Nourzad, Chief Executive Officer, the delegation held a series of high-level meetings with government officials, strategic partners, and the client of the newly awarded Barka Project to reinforce existing partnerships and explore new opportunities for engineering collaboration in Oman and the wider region.
Strengthening Institutional Cooperation with the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran
The visit commenced with a meeting between the Mahab Ghodss delegation and Mousa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Sultanate of Oman, at the Iranian Embassy in Muscat.
The Ambassador welcomed the delegation and described Mahab Ghodss’ long-standing presence in Oman as a source of pride for Iran’s engineering community. He emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Company and the Embassy to further support the international activities of Iranian engineering firms.
Recalling his long-standing familiarity with Mahab Ghodss and its contribution to Iran’s infrastructure development over several decades, the Ambassador praised the Company’s engineering achievements and expressed the Embassy’s readiness to facilitate stronger institutional engagement in support of the Company’s future business development initiatives.
In response, Ali Nourzad expressed his appreciation for the Embassy’s continued support and reaffirmed that strengthening relations with the Embassy remains a key element of Mahab Ghodss’ strategy for expanding its presence in the Omani market. The meeting also included a presentation on the Company’s completed and ongoing projects in Oman, together with an overview of the recently awarded Barka Project.
Expanding Strategic Partnership with Al Abraj
The delegation also met with senior executives of Al Abraj, Mahab Ghodss’ local partner in the Barka Project.
The meeting provided an opportunity to celebrate the successful award of the project and to reaffirm both companies’ commitment to strengthening their long-term partnership. Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in Oman, identifying new business opportunities, and exploring joint participation in future infrastructure projects.
The Chief Executive Officer of Al Abraj welcomed the partnership with Mahab Ghodss and described it as a strategic platform for securing additional engineering projects in Oman. He also expressed the company’s interest in collaborating with Mahab Ghodss on future water infrastructure projects across African markets.
Kick-Off Meeting for the Barka Project
The official kick-off meeting for the Barka Project was held on April 28, 2026, at the headquarters of Nama Water Services, with the participation of representatives from the client, Mahab Ghodss, and Al Abraj.
Addressing the meeting, Ali Nourzad expressed his appreciation for the client’s confidence in awarding a third project to Mahab Ghodss. He reaffirmed the Company’s commitment to delivering high-quality engineering consulting services, maintaining strict adherence to project schedules, and ensuring the highest level of client satisfaction.
During the meeting, Mahab Ghodss presented the project’s implementation plan and responded to a range of technical questions raised by the client.
The Company’s Deputy CEO for Water, Wastewater and Fluid Transmission Systems also outlined Mahab Ghodss’ long-term strategy for expanding its operations in Oman, including the recruitment of local professionals and the permanent deployment of key Iranian specialists to support project execution and future business growth.

Representatives of Nama Water Services welcomed Mahab Ghodss’ strategic approach and expressed their interest in expanding cooperation with the Company on future engineering and infrastructure projects.
