Technical Workshop Showcases Artificial Intelligence Applications in Dam Engineering and Introduces the Mahab Ghodss Intelligent Assistant
As part of its commitment to advancing digital transformation in the water and infrastructure sectors, Mahab Ghodss Consulting Engineering Company successfully delivered a specialized technical workshop entitled “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Dam Engineering and the Mahab Ghodss Intelligent Assistant” for senior managers and technical experts of Oman’s Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.
The workshop was held on July 6, 2026, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Muscat, Oman, with the objective of introducing advanced artificial intelligence applications in dam engineering, promoting digital transformation in infrastructure management, and expanding technical cooperation between Mahab Ghodss and the Ministry.
Strengthening Technical Cooperation Between Iran and Oman
The workshop opened with welcoming remarks by Yousef Al-Mundhri, Director of the Ministry’s Dams Department, who highlighted the long-standing and friendly relations between Iran and Oman. He emphasized the importance of expanding technical cooperation with Iranian engineering companies, particularly Mahab Ghodss, and expressed the Ministry’s interest in benefiting from the Company’s expertise in future engineering and infrastructure projects.

The session also introduced the Mahab Ghodss Intelligent Assistant, outlining its development process, core functionalities, and practical applications in supporting engineering decision-making and knowledge management. The presentation concluded with an interactive discussion addressing participants’ questions and technical inquiries.
Artificial Intelligence Applications in Dam Engineering
In the workshop’s technical sessions, Ali Nourzad presented advanced applications of artificial intelligence in dam engineering, structural health monitoring, and dam safety assessment.
Drawing on real-world case studies from the Azad Dam and Sardasht Dam projects, he demonstrated how AI technologies can support engineering analysis, performance monitoring, predictive maintenance, and safety management throughout the lifecycle of dam infrastructure.
